Savannah Monitor trouble opening his eyes.?

I have a 1 year old Savannah Monitor. Nice big cage, 4'x4', he is about 8 inches long. UVB lamps, heating lamp, undercage heater, felt pad on the bottom of the cage so he wont burn his feet. He is shedding his skin right now also. When he wakes up in the morning, and subsequently after any naps, he cant seem to open his eyes. No vets around here deal with lizards. Any ideas?
