Would changing my seatbelts turn my dashboard airbag light off?

I purchased a salvage 2009 Scion TC from an auction and everything is repaired, including the deployed airbag which was on the penger side. However, the airbag light is still on in my dashboard. I have tried unplugging the car battery and plugging it back in after hours but it still wont turn off. I had someone do a diagnostic on it and the computer screen said that it is the seatbelt on the penger and driver side. My worry is that if I buy the seatbelts and the light remains on, I can't return them so I will be stuck paying for unnecessary parts. Can you PLEASE give me some advice about this? Thank you!
