Is this grammatical, and if so, why does it call upon the English subjunctive?

"Post here your thoughts, whether they be good or bad." I'm tempted to use the English subjunctive with the bare infinitive as opposed to the conjugated verb, but haven't the slightest clue why. If this is graqmmatical, why is it an example of the subjunctive?
