What to do with a spirited spooky arabian?

Okay I got a new horse, Trebune. Hes grey and absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I got him home the other night, with him kicking the trailer and trying to lead ahead of me. Today I was lounging him and HE WILL NOT WALK. He spooked so easily. The wind blew his hair and he would just freeze in mid canter/trot. I decided to ride him and he took off at a full canter when I tried to get him to walk. Anything I can do to calm him or anything?
